Family Recipe Cookbook

Remember, settle, and save what matters. Your family's recipe cards — in Grandma's cursive, stains and all — become a print-ready family cookbook: the original card photo on the left page, the clean recipe on the right, in sections by the relative who shared them.

Available soon — in final preparation

What it costs

Bound printed copy — $49 (the digital build is included). Bound copies are printed one at a time, just for your family: please allow about 3–4 weeks from order to doorstep — 3–5 business days to print, then the mail. Bound copies open the moment our print lane goes live.

Digital build — $37. The cookbook itself: the guided family intake, the never-guess transcription, your relatives' confirmations, and the finished print-ready PDF delivered to you.

Extra bound copies — $29.95 each. One for every kitchen that needs her cooking in it, ordered with the bound edition.

What you get

A link for every relative

Each contributor gets their own invitation link — no accounts, no passwords. They photograph their cards with a phone: flat, straight-on, front and back.

Transcription that never guesses

Every card is transcribed into a clean, standard recipe. Anything we can't read for certain comes back flagged [?] at the exact word for the person who submitted it — never invented, not a word, not a number.

Confirmed by family, not by us

The relative who shared a card reviews the draft beside their photo and locks it themselves. Nothing enters your book unconfirmed — that's what lets everyone trust the text.

Her handwriting, kept

Every recipe prints as a two-page spread: the original card exactly as submitted on the left, the clean readable transcription on the right, under the contributor's name.

Period words, honored

"Oleo," "moderate oven," "butter the size of an egg" — the clean text reads clearly, with a small editor's note preserving what the card actually said. Vague-by-design measures like "a pinch" stay as written.

A book that grows

Sections by contributor, a dedication page, and a recipe index. Finished books run 40–120 pages; bound copies start at the size a printed book needs to hold together.

How it works

1. You open your family's book and invite contributors — or upload your own stack of cards.

2. Each person photographs their cards and gets the transcription draft back to check.

3. They fix anything flagged [?] and confirm. Confirmed recipes — and only confirmed recipes — enter the book.

4. You receive the print-ready PDF, and bound copies can be ordered for every kitchen in the family.

Part of keeping what matters

The Family Recipe Cookbook keeps their cooking. Its companions keep the rest: the Life Story Interview keeps their voice, and the Family Command Center keeps the records. One family, everything saved.

These recipes are reproduced as family history. For canning and preserving, follow current USDA guidance.
